Etnomusicóloga, semióloga musical y cantante. Se ha especializado en el estudio de las músicas vocales de tradición oral, y ha escrito los libros “Una mirada a la boca del son. Memoria histórica e identidad sonora de Quito, Ecuador, a través de sus campanas” y “De lo dicho el silencio o la certeza y el desliz. La canción cardenche”, un estudio sobre las heterofonías vocales del Norte de México. Es coautora de la obra radiofónica “De campanas y badajos o sobre el amor”, encargo de la Saarländischer RUNDFUNK, y compositora de la obra escénico-vocal “Coser y cantar”, un dúo para máquina de coser singer y voz (two singers).
